A secluded waterfall just a short distance away provides a delightful setting for a picnic and swim. Just below the cottages is Hodges Bay. Protected by a series of small islands, it is one of the better beaches in the area. In addition, the Hodges River empties into the sea at this point and is a favourite spot for children to play, and for rinsing off the salt after an ocean swim. Woodford Hill beach, Turtle beach and the beautiful Pointe Baptiste beach are also within walking distance. The cottages are a twenty minute walk from the picturesque fishing village of Calibishie. Here you can while away the time chatting with the local people about the customs and culture of Dominica or treat yourself to a meal in one of the restaurants.
