De Distelkamp

De Distelkamp is a country house set in large grounds with an orchard and a kitchen garden. This country house was built by horse breeders (providing the horses for the cavalry of French and German troops) in 1850. The former coach house and stables are now in use by the owners as a bookbinding and marbled paper business. Guest are quite welcome to a tour of the premises which feature many turn-of-the-century (1900) cast-iron machines which are used in our craft. Apart from the orchard with apples, pears and plums, the grounds feature two old, huge and very beautiful red beeches, an enormous holly, some chestnut trees and a walnut tree. Guest are offered juice, jams and fruit from the grounds. Of course, a house like ours has a poltergeist; don't worry, it's very friendly! As we aim to help you relax, our house is completely free of televisions.
