Most attractions are within walking distance or if you prefer, different tramlines will take you directly to the museum area (Rembrandt/ Van Gogh). The Central Station is just a 10 minute walk away (Schiphol Airport - Central Station is 20 minutes by train). Although during the day this historical neighbourhood is lively, the location is very quiet. All the major canals are just around the corner. Along the Haarlemmerstraat/ Haarlemmerdijk you will find small shops and restaurants all the way to the Central Station. You are surrounded by typical historical houses. A few hundred meters away, in the well-known quarter "de Jordaan", you can find street markets every Saturday and Monday (also flea market) and Anne Frank's house as well. The apartments have their own entrance on the first or second floor.
