Balkissock Lodge is a comfortable Georgian house, built as a shooting lodge to serve the Laggan Estate. Situated in the hills behind Ballantrae in an acre of garden and woodland, it offers a peaceful location where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Ideally situated for walking, cycling, golf and fishing. Near to the ferries and the lovely Galloway Forest, it is en-route for touring the West side of Scotland. The scenery in this part of Scotland is incredible. Enjoy stunning coastal scenery, hills, forests and wildlife! If you enjoy autumn colours, then staying at our lodge will be a real treat for you. You will find a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the lodge. There are double, twin and single rooms all heated and with en-suite facilities, hospitality trays and colour TV's. Guests can relax after dinner by a log fire in the spacious lounge. The hosts are keen cooks, using local produce whenever possible. Breakfast offers the usual full Scottish or variations plus some interesting alternatives. Dinner is a 3 course meal served with complementary wine. All our meals are home cooked - including the bread and rolls. Bring your own wine, etc. if you prefer.
