St Albans

This lovely family run four star bed and breakfast is set in the heart of Berwickshire, with spectacular views all the way to the Cheviot Hills in England. A listed building, it is set in the charming village of Duns. This is the ideal base in which either to relax in the tranquillity of this little known area of Scotland or to explore the many historic sites and beauty spots in Berwickshire. As well as the traditional Scottish breakfast, there is a varied menu including a variety of fish or cheeses and continental cold meats. Why not sample the selection of homemade jams and marmalade or simply have some fruit juice and a bowl of cereal, the choice is yours. Special and vegetarian diets can be catered for by arrangement. All rooms come with the following hair dryers, colour television, hot water bottles, towelling bathrobes, tea and coffee facilities. St Albans provides top quality accommodation in this Grade II historically listed building. For the comfort of the guests St Albans is a totally non-smoking house.

Ancrum Craig

Ancrum Craig is the perfect first stop in Scotland. Come experience a peaceful country home that everyone loves from the moment they arrive. Enjoy all the character of its Victorian past and all the comforts of today. We provide a generous breakfast menu and a large garden and magnificent views. We have been recommended by Which?, Frommer's Guide and Alistair Sawday's. For your convenience, there is ample private car parking. For evening meals we recommend the Cross Keys in Ancrum (2 miles), we especially recommend Simply Scottish in Jedburgh (6 miles) and The Caddy Man (5 miles). A simple Walker's supper can be booked at Ancrum Craig by prior arrangement. All rooms have en-suite facilities, central heating, TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making tray. We welcome dogs to Ancrum Craig but request that owners follow some rules.

Harden Vale

Harden Vale, By the Green in Ancrum Village, is ½ mile from A68, 1 Mile from St Cuthbert's way, and 100 meters from village pub. Harden Vale is ideal for families, groups, walkers, cyclists and stopovers! Bed and breakfast or self catering accommodation, the choice is yours! We are located right in the heart of the Scottish Borders in the vicinity of St Cuthbert's Way. Harden Vale, which has off road parking, is in the centre of this historic village overlooking the Village Green and its 16th century Market Cross. It is next to the village shop and 100 yards from the Cross Keys pub, which wins awards for its real ales. Both the Cross Keys pub, and the Simply Scottish in Jedburgh (4 miles), are especially recommended for evening meals. Just across the A68 is the Lothian Estate with the Harestanes visitors centre. From here you can make many walks over the estate, visit the gardens, etc. Since we do not live in Harden Vale, the whole house is available for our guests to use. Parties and families can relax in the privacy of their "own" house. Breakfast is served in the living room downstairs from 7 to 8:30 am.
