Good Hope Farm Bed and Breakfast

Follow the tree lined drive through the working citrus farm, past the unusual sighting of a young baobab tree far to the south of its normal habitat, to the comfortable farmhouse, where Johnny and Janine welcome you into their family home. Enjoy the peaceful and friendly farm atmosphere, use the swimming pool, visit the small farm museum, walk through the extensive garden, along the farm roads and through the orange and lemon orchards. Good Hope Farm provides 3 accommodation units. One of the units is suitable for either a family or a group of four. This suite has 2 separate bedrooms which share a bathroom. Country restaurants are conveniently situated nearby for evening meals. The farm is located about 1 hour from the coastal city of Port Elizabeth in the Sundays River Valley and Zuurberg Mountain range. The farm is just 18 km from the Addo Elephant National Park. Bookings can be arranged for night drives in the Addo Elephant National Park or nearby Private Game Reserves (where lions can be seen). For the more adventurous, canoe and horse trails can be arranged.

Koelfontein Karoo Guest Farm

Koelfontein Karoo is a 1900 hectare mountainous guest farm set in the sparkling Karoo. Ride a horse, climb the mountains or refresh yourself in the pool. The amazing Karoo bird life will impress you. Waterfowl and wild life in their natural habitat are a reward in themselves. Be it barking baboon in the krantzes or springbok on the flats, there are all sorts of surprises. Children, families, couples, singles and pets are allowed. The crisp dry winters and the hot summers with refreshing occasional rain are what makes the Karoo so attractive. This farm offers a unique blend of flat Karoo 'vlak' and 'vlei' land with the famous mountains of Cradock right on the farm. The luxury all-in-one chalet offers you a home from home. Two comfortable beds and a double sleeper couch are provided. The chalet has its own en suite bathroom with bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen with hot plates, a microwave and fridge, etc. There is also TV with four channels and you are away from the main homestead in your own privacy. As another choice, there are four cosy double outside rooms with a shared shower, bathroom and a kitchen area with fridge, hot plates, a kettle and pots and pans. You can cook your own meal in private - or your hosts can provide wood and braai (barbeque) packs of meat or on request you can enter the main house and enjoy succulent Karoo lamb or Springbok venison. The food is traditional and tasty but please give your hosts warning.

The dining room is where you will enjoy your English breakfast in comfort or enjoy your breakfast on the patio and listen to the sounds of pure country life. A dinner may be served at a nominal fee provided it is ordered before 4 pm on the day. Please notify your hosts. At the end of the day you can take a break and relax in the lounge and watch some TV (with m-net & satellite facility) or simply just read a book and un-wind.
