Columbia City Hotel

The City Hotel of Columbia, California is centrally located in the gold country of the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. We operate two fine historic bed and breakfast inns in Columbia State Historic Park; the City Hotel and the Fallon Hotel. These hotels were built during Columbia's gold rush days. Today, they have been beautifully restored and furnished with exquisite antiques. The City Hotel contains a "three star" restaurant featuring gourmet dining, an expansive wine cellar, and the "What Cheer Saloon" with full liquor and espresso bar. The Fallon Hotel contains the Fallon Ice Cream Parlour, where your ice cream is served in waffle cones made right there, and the historic Fallon Theatre where you can enjoy live theatre productions. A generous breakfast buffet is served in the dining room at the City Hotel and in the Ice Cream Parlour at the Fallon Hotel.

After a tour and orientation, you will be shown to your room and invited to spend some time along Deer Creek and the gardens. You can stroll hand-in-hand in an inviting country setting. Rose covered arbors and stone paths lead you to a mystical and carefree time. Beautiful and year-round Deer Creek will sing songs of happy times on its trip past your new home away from home. Each evening before supper, either in the parlor or on the sun-bathed patio, guests are invited to enjoy a complementary wine service and social hour featuring Nevada City wines. Then, it's off to supper and Nevada City's own particular form of evening entertainment. There are performing arts theaters as well as numerous venues for good music and good company. In the morning, a gourmet, three-course breakfast is served to fortify you for the day ahead. Nevada City’s quaint streets invite you to enjoy antique, collectible and one-of-a-kind shopping; horse-drawn carriage rides, numerous are galleries; wine tasting and walking tours of Nevada City’s charming homes, churches, museums, and other historic points of interest. The Grey Gables Bed and Breakfast Inn

Located in the historic California Gold Rush area of the Sierra Foothills, the Grey Gables Inn brings a touch of the English countryside to the Mother Lode. The inn has eight elegantly decorated guestrooms named for English poets such as Byron, Browning, and Shelley. Rooms are furnished with authentic antiques and each has air conditioning, a fireplace, and full private baths some with classic clawfoot baths. Outside, red brick pathways lead the way to a terraced garden with fountains, vine covered arbors, and a multitude of colorful plants and flowers. In true English tradition, the Garlick's serve afternoon tea with cakes or scones in the formal parlor, as well as the evening hor d'oeuvres and refreshments that have become a bed and breakfast tradition. A gourmet breakfast is served, featuring Sue's ever-changing array of culinary creations with an English flair.
